Doortast osteopathie

What is osteopathy?

With osteopathy you investigate and treat physical complaints.

The body consists of many different aspects and/or systems, because all our tissues (organs, bones, nervous system) are connected and form a unit.

Some examples of our systems are; the musculoskeletal system, our brain and nervous system, the hormonal system, the functioning of our organs and associated metabolism and more…

All these systems work closely together to ensure that we are healthy and can function properly.

You cannot see these systems separately.

When clients report physical complaints, the osteopath examines all tissues for mobility and mutual relationships.

If we are in balance, then there are no complaints. Nowadays in our society it is no longer surprising if you are out of balance. Stress, incorrect nutrition, working long hours at the computer, etc., can be factors that throw us out of balance. Our body responds to this by functioning less well and physical complaints are a consequence.

The osteopath often sees a loss of movement or blockage of the organs and tissues as the cause for the development of complaints and will investigate and treat this using osteopathy. The osteopath will do this through techniques with his hands.

The osteopath thus stimulates the body’s self-healing capacity.
