Osteopathy for adults

Why osteopathy for adults?

Growing older comes naturally. Unfortunately, as you get older, it is not self-evident that you remain healthy and fit. The responsibilities of adults increase and the pressure on their physical condition also often increases. Unfortunately, this also includes physical (adult) complaints. Many of these complaints have a clear cause, such as a wrong posture during work, a wrong movement during sports or you fall off your bike.

In most cases you can live with this for a long time, because your body is always inclined to compensate (sparing or avoiding your complaints).

Then we have the complaints that have a less clear cause and which can be persistent. These unexplained complaints can manifest themselves in the musculoskeletal system (back, neck, hips, etc.), but they often have a deeper cause. For example, due to the poor functioning of one of your organs (stomach/intestinal complaints, kidney problems, etc.), hormonal problems, previous trauma, stress, etc.

What does osteopathy do for adults?

Musculoskeletal complaints can be properly treated. If you do not address the cause, the complaints will persist or return over time. So persistent and inexplicable.

Doortast Osteopathie Leiden can help with this. To make an appointment I can be reached on 06-38303629. You can also email osteopathy@doortast.nl

How do I proceed?

When you make an appointment with me, the first time is always an intake. I hereby ask you everything, because I want to work with you to find the cause of your complaints. After the interview, a physical examination follows. I always look at the entire body and check all joints and structures for mobility. So I always work with my hands.

I then often start treating immediately. The joints or structures that are stuck will be loosened. For this I use mobilizing techniques or manipulations (popularly known as squatting).

I often use the spine as an entrance, but techniques on the abdomen, skull, or elsewhere on the body are very common during treatments. I also provide a lot of advice on how to best deal with your complaints, or how you can ensure that your complaints do not return.
